Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Warner Temple AME Zion Church.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Yvonne Rivers, 78, of Wilmington, North Carolina transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.  She was born on May 19, 1947, in Wilmington, North Carolina, to the late Elijah ''Son" Rivers and Margaret "Maggie" Reed Rivers.  She was known for her kindness, laughter, and unconditional love.  Even during the most difficult times, she could put a smile on your face. Yvonne enjoyed singing, cooking, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with her family.  She will always be remembered for her unwavering love and commitment to her family.  Joyful memories of love shall remain with those who shall miss her the most: Children: Lytanya Alston, Bryant Rivers, Tony Rivers (Janice).  Grandchildren: Aeriele Rivers-Harris (Anthony), Erica Alston, Tiny Alston, Gerald Alston, David Rivers, Gregory Rivers, Tyrell Rivers, Brittney Green (A.J.), Jordyn Rivers, and Tony Rivers.  Siblings, Rev. Thomasina Brilford, Alphonso Rivers (Harriet), Helen Warren, Judean Wilson (Gene), and Vernell Williams (Alvin); George Stokes – Cousin; great grandchildren, and a host f nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Loved ones having gone on before her, other than her parents; sisters Matherine Benbow, Carolyn Rivers and great niece Sherlynda Benbow.
