Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Andrew AME Zion Church. Visitation is from 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Wilmington National Cemetery.
Mrs. Willie Faye Moore, daughter of the late Whitefoot Randall and the late Mamie Williams, was born on October 17, 1932, in Little River Neck, SC. She departed this life on March 9, 2024. Mrs. Moore received her early education at the Poplar Training School in Wampee, SC. She attended secondary school to further her education. She later moved to Wilmington, NC where she worked several jobs until joining Textilease in October of 1959, until she retired. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Macedonia AME Church. She later joined St. Andrews AME Zion Church where she remained a faithful member until her health declined. She served in various capacities which included the Stewardess Board, R.W. Johnson Club, Usher Board, and a faithful life member of the Missionary Board [Posie Johnson, President]. Willie Faye was very loving and compassionate, as she spent her life serving and nurturing others. She would often take care of the elderly, run errands and cook. If there was anything that she could do for you, she would. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and activities with the Senior Citizen Club. Willie Faye was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, which progressively worsened over time. She later relocated to Charlotte, NC to live out her remaining days with her daughter. Mrs. Willie Faye was preceded in death by the following family members: husband, Herbert Moore; daughter, Myra Moore, mother, Mamie Williams and father, Whitefoot Randall. She Leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughter, Karla Bartlett of Charlotte NC; her two nieces, Lisa Smith [Alfred] of Conway, SC and Sheila Wilson [Clarence] of Columbia, SC; her sisters, Lottie Bellamy [the late Rev. Bellamy] of Little River Neck, SC, Barbara Davis German [Bernard] of Burgess, SC and Fay Randall-Weaver [Donald] of Harrisburg, PA; a host of family and friends.
