Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Wille Mae Washington, was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina by her mother, the late Sadie Bell Harrell Pearson and grandmother, Rosa Bell Green.  She was educated in the public schools of New Hanover County.  Early on Monday, July 8, 2024, she quietly entered into eternal rest.  Willie Mae married James Ronnie Washington in Wilmington, before moving the family to Detroit, Michigan in the late 1960s to make it their home.  Her smile was infectious and would light up a room.  Willie Mae was a caring person with a warm and loving spirit.  She loved and cherished her family.  In her younger days, she loved dancing and doing the two-step.  For over thirty years, she worked her way up to store manager at White Castle.  Later retiring and enjoying the fruits of her labor.  Willie Mae was proceeded in death by her husband, Ronnie; sons, Larry Harrell and Stacy Washington; and daughter, Ronnette Washington.  She leaves to cherish her loving memories son, Anthony Ray Harrell and wife, Becky; granddaughters, Kia Harrell, Jennifer Washington, Amber Harrell and Diamond Washington; grandson Larry Darnell Harrell; numerous great grandchildren; sisters Mildred Ellerby, Daisy Nesbitt, Mary Greene, Cherry Pearson, Betty Robinson (Eugene) and Dale Pearson Ford; brothers, Rheuben Pearson (Marilyn) and Timothy Pearson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
