William Henry Moore was the youngest child born to the late Cleveland and Emma McIver Moore on June 29, 1932, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He departed this life on July 11, 2024. Bill, as he was affectionately called by all who knew him was an avid sportsman, fisherman and farmer. He enjoyed sharing his wares with anyone who desired them and would always give fish and vegetables, etc., to neighbors and friends with pleasure. This was the kind of heart he had. Bill married his childhood sweetheart Barbara Alderman, and they had two devoted and loving daughters, Cathy, and Patricia Moore. Bill served his country faithfully and was honorably discharged from the US Army. He and his family then resided in Brooklyn, New York for over 30 years before retiring and moving back to Wilmington, North Carolina. Bill was baptized in Mt. Zion AME Church and enjoyed working with the Men's Club until his health prevented this. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Lillie M. Stukes, Lucille M. Walker and David Moore. He remains in the hearts of: his spouse, Barbara Moore; children, Cathy Moore and Patricia Moore; a devoted brother-in-law, Brent G. Jones; aunt-in-law, Barbara Alderman and daughters of Philadelphia, PA; two very special nephews, Alan (Melanie) Bowden and Pastor Michael Hurst of Des Moines, IA; niece, Shermaine Bowden; special cousins, Alexander Murphy and sisters; devoted friends, Joseph (Ailease) Harris of Wilmington, NC, Joseph and Delores Green of Charleston, SC and Rev. Robert Boykin of Wilmington, NC.
