Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6-8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Our Heavenly Father in his infinite wisdom called our mother, Mrs. Wilhelmina W. Bell to eternal rest on August 29, 2023, at Novant Health Medical Group surrounded by loved ones. Wilhelmina was born on November 5, 1937, to the late Rueben Green and Luci Williams. She grew up in the Middle Sound Community in Ogden NC, and later moved to Wilmington NC. She attended Williston Senior High School where she met and later married David Bell, Jr. This union produced seven children. Our beloved was a life-long time member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church where she served in various capacities. Sister Bell also had a passion for hats, in which she was known for her hat shows first started in church. She was a founding member of the Willing Workers Committee, and she sang in the choir. Wilhelmina is preceded in death by her husband, David Bell Jr., one daughter: Estella B. Davis (aka. Vet), and one grandson, Lorenzo P. Bell, Jr. (aka Lil' Man). She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Her children: Angela B. Thomas (Willie), David J. Bell (Priscilla), Fredrick Bell, Lorenzo P. Bell, Wilma Bell, Charles Clark, and Natricia Bell. Three sisters; Geraldine Jinwright (Donald), Mary Burwell and Mary McIntyre. Two brothers; James and Bobby Pierce. Three sisters-in-laws; Sadie Franks, Mary Vaught, and Geneva Green. One brother-in-law; Ernest Bell (Demure). Seventeen grandchildren; Natoya Bell, Geoffrey Bell, Shantilya Bell, Tamira Merritt (Mike), Chaquandia Bell, Amie Atkinson (Ja Shaad), Fredrick Bell, Antwon Bell, Sharita Bell, Christopher Bell, Jasmine Bell, Aaron Bell, Alexus Bell, Aniya N. Mckoy, Lorenzo P. Bell, III, Niola Jewett (Lashanda), and Loletta Jewett. Special loved ones; Linda Kay Jones, Kay Smith, Constance Simmons, Pamela Wilson, Karen Robinson, Jacquline Allen, and Debbie Lowe. A host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends, which are too many to name. Lastly, she leaves one special physician that she considered as a son, Dr. David Richardson.
