Victor Leroy Nixon affectionately known as "DaDa" was born on March 15,1955 to the late Mary Jane Nixon and Freddie Elmo Foy in Wilmington, NC. DaDa departed this life peacefully on January 25,2026, at NHRMC surrounded by loved ones.  DaDa received his education through the New Hanover County Sci-tool System. DaDa was a devoted worker with Sutton Council Furniture and spent many years contributing to construction projects that strengthened and served the community. Known for a strong work ethic and a generous spirit, DaDa took pride in helping others in need.  Outside of work, DaDa was truly the life of the party always dancing (his dancing partner Timicka), laughing, and bringing joy wherever they went. DaDa energy, warmth, and love for celebration will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. DaDa was a faithful member and choir member of Old Scotts Hill AME Church until his health declined.  In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his sisters and brother.  DaDa leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Diana Howard (Delissa), grandson, Kahim Howard; four brothers, Michael Nixon (Vernessa), Don Nixon (Diane), Frederick Foy (Anne), and Samuel Greene; one sister, Peggy Lockett (Tony). A special dedicated and loving sister, Monique Simon; two uncle, Alvin Nixon (Margaret), and James Pierce; one aunt, Dr. Joeann McGhee (Darryl); one great aunt Mattie Foy; one sister-in-law, Linda C. Nixon; one brother-in-law, Anthony Gause; and a special cousin/friend Mamie Carlos; and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
