Thomas Porter Denkins, III gained his heavenly wings on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  He was born on April 3, 1953, to Helen Irving Denkins and the late Thomas Porter Denkins, Jr. in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jr." or "Porter" as he was so fondly known was educated in the New Hanover County School System and attended Williston High School.  He enlisted in the US Marines.  After returning from the military, he was employed with the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and Standard Glass of Wilmington, Inc.  Accepting Christ as his personal Savior, Jr. joined New Vision of Faith.  He was married to the former Patricia Dailey.  Jr. was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.  He really enjoyed his family, especially his sisters.  Porter loved playing cards and dancing.  He kept everybody laughing and cutting up everywhere he went.  He loved family and people, and everyone loved him.  He would give you the shirt off his back and anything his family needed, he gave it to them.  Jr. had a heart of gold.  His favorite words were "Tell Porter about it" and "I ain't mad at you".  In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeremiah Denkins and his sister, Ginger Denkins Lee.  Jr. leaves to cherish fond memories:  his wife, Patricia Denkins of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Sean Dailey (Shaeoya) and LeVar Dailey (Tenesha); one daughter, Shaquanna Denkins; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his mother, Helen McMillian of Winnabow, NC; 4 sisters, Felbie Butler (Windell) of Wilmington, NC, Myra Burnett (Ronnie) of Leland, NC, Sabrina Denkins and Laura Denkins both of Wilmington, NC; a brother, Talib Shareef (Tahinah) of Washington, DC;  brother-in-law of, David Lee of Wilmington, NC; 4 aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.
