Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Mt. Moriah AME Church, 13950 NC HWY 210, Rocky Point, NC. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery, Rocky Point, NC. Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
Thomas James Johnson, Jr., son of Thomas James Johnson, Sr and the late Joyce Anne Johnson was born on November 15, 1968. He departed his earthly home for his heavenly home on February 16, 2026, at his home in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. Thomas was a graduate of Pender High School. After high school, he attended truck driving school in Tennessee. Upon graduating from truck driving school, Thomas began working in construction in which he worked for 25 years. After leaving construction work, he began working at his current job Custom Metals, which he worked at for 20 years. Thomas also worked with the family business, Break-n-Bread Catering. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Anne Johnson and his son Kaseem Armstrong. Left to cherish his memories: his wife, Lynette Johnson of the home; children, Shanelle Starks (Frankie) of the home and Kaylan Johnson (Patricia), Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Xavien and Ziyan Starks of the home; father, Thomas Johnson, Sr. of Rocky Point, NC; brothers, Burney Johnson (Vivian), Salisbury, NC and Howard Cosley (Iris), Florence, SC; sisters, Debra Williams (Alvin), Joyce Parham (Larry), and Lillie Tobias, all of Rocky Point, NC; sisters-in-law, Linda Spellman (Gerald) of Raleigh, NC and Jessica Allen (Terry) of Wilmington, NC; brothers-in-law, Sean Johnson (Shakia), Wilmington, NC and Kenyatta Johnson (Brandy) of NJ; aunts, Ethel Johnson, Hampstead, NC, Lillie McLean, Rocky Point, NC, Janette Johnson, Wilmington, NC, Ella Mae Anderson, NYC, Daisy Mae Cooper, Wilson, NC, Addie Dora Lacewell (Clarence), Rocky Point, NC, and Gwen Carr, Staten Island, NY, uncles, Rudolph Johnson (Alice), Hampstead, NC; Paul Johnson (Curly), Rocky Point, NC and Ernest Carr (Roselyn), Brooklyn, NY; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends
