Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5:30 -8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the funeral home.

Thomas Curtis Canty departed this life on April 19, 2024, at 2:20 P.M.  He was born March 2, 1980, at New Hanover Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, North Carolina.  Thomas was the son of the late Gloria Mae Canty Harrison and the late Harrell Bellamy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Milton Allen and his uncles, Tracy Canty and Curtis Canty. Thomas Curtis was raised in the Creekwood Community, where he was well known.  He attended schools in the New Hanover County area thru the years of his life. He leaves to cherish his memory: six brothers: Kowan Canty, Mathis Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Joseph Harrison, Dorian Bellamy, and Darius Bellamy; three sisters: Kayanna Harrison Ford, Tequilla Harrison and Armoni Snead; grandmother, Willie Mae Canty; step-grandfather, Donald Ray Simpson; thirteen aunts, a special aunt, JoAnn Bellamy, Lisa Canty Herring, Stella Canty Herring, Karla Canty, Donna Simpson, Laurice Long, Harriet Williamson, Phyllis Allen, Donna Allen, Cassandra Bradley (Alvin), Wanda Simpson, Ericia Y. Artis of Vallejo, California, and Sylvia Bellamy; ten uncles: Wayne Hill, Jerrod Canty (Sabrina), Megan Canty, Terry Allen, Ricky Allen (Emille), Sherwood Simpson, Roscoe Simpson, William Simpson (Susie), Kenneth Simpson (Larvene), and Barry Simpson; a host of many cousins, other relatives and friends.
