THOMAS OLIVER ASHE, JR. was born on July 29, 1956 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Louise McIntyre Everett and Thomas Oliver Ashe, Sr. "Tommy" as he was affectionately called by most, departed this life in Raleigh, NC at the age of 67 on June 3, 2024. Tommy attended local Wilmington area elementary schools and graduated from New Hanover High School with the Class of 1974. Upon graduation, Tommy had a desire to travel and see the world. This led him to join the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served and obtained the rank of Sergeant. Tommy later returned to the Wilmington area, but his love for travel, took him back out on the road as a long-distance truck driver. In his trucking career, Tommy worked for several companies, delivering goods for Southern Refrigerated Transport, Western Quality Foods, and Justin Time Transportation. Tommy eventually purchased his own trucking rig and started his own business, called Jupiter and Beyond Trucking Co., LLC. He was so proud of owning his own independent trucking company and being his own boss. He worked as long as physically possible, until his health declined. Tommy was a thoughtful talkative person. He often phoned up family and friends to pass the time, while on his long-distance road trips. Those in his social circle, know Tommy always remembered to call with a "birthday shout out" to brighten and uplift your day.
