Theodocia Nixon Shaw, daughter of the late Annie and Herbert Nixon was born November 13, 1927, in Castle Hayne, NC. Theodocia Shaw affectionately known as "Fatty" by most of her community, attended Williston Industrial High School. She was united in holy matrimony in 1946 to the love of her life, Henry Jesse Shaw. Theodocia was preceded in death by her husband. "Fatty" loved her family with all her mind, body and soul. Her dedication to God led her to become a Group Leader, a Chorister, and Secretary for the Senior Choir. "Fatty" was a role model for many in the community. "God" blessed her with many talents, such as a good cook, seamstress, designer, and a giving heart. Fatty was very comical and always had all of us laughing. Other than her husband, "Fatty" was preceded in death by four brothers, Anderson, Herbert, Jr., Roosevelt and Edward; a set of twin sisters, Annie Mae and Rosa Mae; and three sons, David, Henry, Jr., and Levi. Theodocia Shaw, leaves to cherish her memories, four son's and three daughters; Willie Thomas Nixon of Wilmington, NC, John Dallas Shaw of Castle Hayne, NC, Freddie Shaw (Hazel) of Winter Haven, FL, Sarah Shaw Walker (Harold) of Wilmington, NC, Roderick Shaw, Cassandra Feaster, Vanessa Greene (Charles) all of Castle Hayne, NC; one sister, Beulah Boney of Castle Hayne, NC; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Ruby Nixon of Stone Mountain, GA, and Ms. Winne Shaw of Clarkton, NC; thirty-seven grandchildren; seventy-nine great grandchildren, nineteen great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; three very special friends, Donna, Shiela and Christina; and a dear and caring nephew, Joseph Nixon.
