FACE COVERINGS ARE STILL REQUIRED TO ENTER THE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Shaw Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery.  Visitation is prior to the service.  Terrill has faced many obstacles during his short journey, but he never let any of his health issues stop him.  Anytime he saw you, he had a warm cheerful greeting followed by a hug.  Terrill was a fighter from birth and kept his love for life and his family throughout each obstacle, each hospital stay, and each tribulation.  He was educated in New Hanover County public school system, where he received his diploma from Hoggard High School in 2010.  It wasn't a family gathering he wouldn't be present at. Terrill was always observant, and just wanted to have fun. He loved visiting Charlotte and Myrtle Beach.  He wouldn't miss a chance to go anywhere as his health permitted.  He enjoyed outings at Elderhaus and wouldn't miss a chance to go to Subway, Terrill could eat. Growing up Terrill was a prankster, always into something.  He loved gaming systems, dirt bikes, music and made sure he kept his waves intact. He never met a stranger and captured the hearts of many teachers, principals, and nurses.  He would greet you before you even got out of your car.  Terrill also loved going to church.  He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents L.C., and Geraldine Gause, maternal grandfather Roosevelt Murphy, and brother Troy Gause of Wilmington, NC.  Terrill leaves to cherish his memories in the heart of his mother; Theodora (Dedrick), grandmother; Martha G Merrick, sisters; Tanisia (Josh), ZyKeema (Subie), brothers; Rokeem (Mesha), and Rodney Dixon, uncles; Lamont Gause, Theodore Gause and Terrence Schwartz, auntss Markisha Gause, Letitia Gause, and Davida DeBose, nephews; Malik, Bryson, Trustin and Zaki, nieces; Tori, I'mani, Ariyonna, Ja'Syah, and Amara.  Special cousins Ty, Gary, Quan, and Demone.  Close friends Steve, Derrick, Aaliyah, Derez, Ms. Bobbi, and godmother Barbara Stevens.  A special thanks to ECU Health Medical Center and NHRMC Rehabilitation Center.
