Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Bolivia.  Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Teresa Gayle Pelham, a longtime resident of Summerville, SC, transitioned from 207 Violet Drive, Summerville, SC to her heavenly home on Thursday August 22, 2024. Teresa was born in Brunswick County on December 7, 1957, to the late Olivia and Herbert Pelham. Teresa was educated in the Brunswick County Public School system and was a graduate of South Brunswick High School in Boiling Springs Lake, NC. She attended UNC Wilmington and from there she went on to work at Carolina Power and Light Company as a nuclear monitor maintenance support in Southport, NC. This position enabled Teresa to travel and explore parts of the world.  While assigned to the site in South Carolina, she then decided to make Summerville her home. There she became disabled to work but dedicated her time to community watch and volunteerism. She shared in the homeless ministry at Summerville Baptist Church and worked with groups to provide home roofing to underprivileged communities. She loved gardening and fishing.  Teresa had a very special love for her family and friends.  Teresa was preceded in death by one brother:  Lee Y. Greene (Donna). She leaves to cherish her precious memories, stories and old sayings to her immediate family: Brothers: John Anthony Pelham (Katie) Hampton, VA; Henry Lee Pelham and Herbert Alfred Pelham, Bolivia NC; Sisters: Lena P. Williams (Bernard) Castle Hayne, NC and Kathy Pelham, Hampton VA; a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends. Teresa also leaves to cherish her memories, stories and old sayings to her Summerville, SC family.  The names are too numerous to list and to single out "SPECIAL"' to any one person would be an injustice to all.  Teresa loved her Summerville, SC family, and during her illness it was so very evident that they loved her equally as well.
