Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Freedom's Way Ministries; 1952 Dawson Street. Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Taemon Xavier Kirby was born on December 29, 2001, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC to Jannette Evelyn Goodman and the late Noumba Kobeyashi Kirby (Kobie).  Tae attended Blount Elementary School, Myrtle Grove Middle School, and Eugene Ashley High School. Tae or 'Tae Rose", as he was affectionally called by his family and friends, departed this earthly life on December 7, 2023.  Tae's magnetic smile, genuine kindness and loving nature made all he met love him.  He had a wonderfully sweet, humble, and generous spirit; and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they were in trouble. Tae had a natural talent as an artist, and his ability to draw and paint was extraordinary.  Tae was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and great friend. He loved to laugh, and his laughter was contagious.  He had a heart of gold, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Tae is survived by his mother, Jannette Goodman; grandmother, Doris Cassio, sisters Tanisha Homes, Shakora Seabrooks and Ceemone McIntyre; brothers, Terrence Goodman, and Jamal Goodman; girlfriend and soulmate Jabria Bass; children, 14 month old Amir James Kirby and one month old Onyx Rose Kirby; uncle, Clayton Johnson; great uncle, Rev. Kojo Nantambu (Linda); aunts, Sheila Hobbs (Eric) and Roseland Goodman; nieces, Shakera Riley and Jaliyah Goodman, nephew Jayden Goodman; cousins, other family members and a host of special friends.
