Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Mt Zion AME Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Tabitha Letece Gerald fondly known as "Tab" was born May 5, 1980 to Wanda Faye Gerald and Timothy I. Pearson. The angels were dispatched to New Hanover Regional Medical Center/Novant on January 17, 2024, to carry her to her new home. Tabitha accepted Christ as her Savior on January 2, 2024. She was educated in the New Hanover County Public School System and graduated from Dublin Community College in 2000. She furthered her education at Cape Fear Community College. Tabitha chose to purse an online degree from Southern New Hampshire University in Public Health. Tabitha was reared in Wilmington, NC and attended Mount Zion AME Church. She was employed with several Health Care and Rehabilitation Facilities in Wilmington and other NC cities as a traveling CNA. Tabitha was also active in her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading. She loved a good cup of coffee. She would go above and beyond to help anyone in need. Tabitha was preceded in death by her sons, Joseph O'Brian Purdy and Tamagh Deliverance. She leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Seven Divine-Allah of Wilmington, NC; her children, Cameron Gavin and Samar Gerald of Wilmington, NC; her mother, Wanda Faye Hayes (Gregory Wayne) of Wilmington, NC; her father, Timothy I. Pearson (Cassandra) of Wilmington, NC; her grandmother, Ethel Thomas Gerald of Wilmington, NC; her mother-in-law, Mary J. Purdy; sisters, Brittany Pearson of Wilmington, NC and Regina Bellamy of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Gregory Byrd (Melissa) of Brooklyn, NY; sisters-in-law, Delores Jones (Robert) of Maryland and Cathy Dwyer (Victor) of Rocky Point, NC; uncles, Paul Reaves (Dorothy) of Richmond, VA, Arnett Gerald of Wilmington, NC, Rheuben Pearson (Marilyn) of Wilmington, NC, Clarence Hayes (Deloris), Joseph Hayes (Catherine) and Arthur J. Allen all of Winston-Salem, NC; aunts, Mildred Ellerby, Mary Greene, Dale Ford, Betty Robinson (Eugene), Daisy Nesbitt, Willa Mae Washington, and Cherry Pearson all of Wilmington, NC; a special niece, Kimora Renee' Pearson; her one and only special nephew, Jatori My Prince Waddell and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
