Funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, New Centre Drive.  Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Phillip AME Church, 815 N 8 ^th Street.

Shalla Patrice Pellom , beloved daughter of Beverly Charles Pellom and Jonathan "Joe" Pellom, was born May 24, 1983.  She heard God's angels whisper in her ear to come home on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She reached out her arms to her grandparents when Hulon and Alma Pellom, and Joseph and Gardenia Charles, said to come and join them. She was the apple of her grandparents' eyes.  Shalla accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Christian Hope Christian Church in Maco, North Carolina. She grew up serving in many capacities at the church, including the choir. Shalla was a 2001 graduate of North Brunswick High School in Leland, NC, where she played basketball and sang in the chorus. After high school, she became employed in childcare and discovered her love for children. She also worked as a server at Fat Tony's Italian Pub in downtown Wilmington where she enjoyed gathering and socializing with her friends. Shalla managed AA Self Storage in Wilmington, NC for over 10 years. Her employees, the customers, and the AA Self Storage owners loved her dearly.  She enjoyed ubering part-time because it allowed her to meet and interact with others.  Shalla had an enormous circle of loving friends. She never met a stranger. She was fun-loving and very adventurous. She was a go-getter and had strong political views and loved a good debate! She loved to read, work on Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles and watch movies.  She is survived by her mother and father, Beverly Charles Pellom and Jonathan "Joe" Pellom; two sisters, Remontie L. Brown and Ashley Rae Pellom; one niece: Bria M. Brown; six aunts: Annette P. Sloan, Sheila P. Spaulding, Jacqueline C. Darden, Margie Gail Charles, Gwendolyn Charles, and Kimberly C. Wallace (Michael); one uncle: Joseph "Neil" "Joe" Charles (Tanya); and numerous cousins, too many to name; best friends Amy and Tyler Dale, their daughters Kiley and Lily, Shalla's goddaughters; and the love and joy of her life, Lindsay Curtin.
