Sam Daniels, Jr., born August 20, 1963, in Florence, South Carolina, passed away on September 7, 2026. He lived with a big spirit and a gift for making people smile, and he will be remembered as someone who truly enjoyed life to the fullest.
A graduate of South Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina. Sam built a working life as a truck driver and welder. He was the kind of man who knew the value of hard work and carried that strength with him throughout his life. Away from work, he found happiness in cooking, fishing, and making the most of every day. He had a joyful way about him, and spending time with his grandchildren, along with his dog Debo, brought him special happiness. Bringing a smile to everyone’s face was one of his greatest joys.
Sam’s family was at the heart of his life. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Laurann Daniels of Wilmington, North Carolina; his sons, Demetrius Jordan (April) of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Torry Daniels of Florence, South Carolina; his grandsons, Demetrius Jordan, Jr. and Dakota Jordan; his granddaughters, Cameron Jordan and Armani Henry; his mother-in-law Pearline Jordan of Florence, South Carolina, his sisters, Betty Daniels of Rocky Point, North Carolina, Ruby Hunter of Florence, South Carolina, Rosa Barr of Florence, South Carolina, Janie Daniels of Timmonsville, South Carolina, and Lillie Stuckey of Timmonsville, South Carolina; his brothers, Willie Daniels of Atlanta, Georgia, Clifton Daniels (Sharon) of Leland, North Carolina, Christopher Daniels (Sherry) of Atlanta, Georgia, Frank Daniels of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lafayette McDonald (Linda) of Sumter, South Carolina, Leroy Stuckey of Timmonsville, South Carolina, Eddie Daniels of Timmonsville, South Carolina; his sister-in-law Sherry Jordan of Greenville, South Carolina along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins. He leaves behind a family circle that will carry his memory forward with love, laughter, and gratitude for the time they shared with him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Daniels; his father Sam Daniels, Sr.; his wife, Loria Eaddy; and his grandson, Amari Henry. Their memories remained part of his story, and their love remains part of the family he treasured.
His life was one that made room for family, laughter, and bright moments.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home, 520 Red Cross Street, Wilmington, North Carolina. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 7022 Masonboro Sound Rd., Wilmington, North Carolina.
Sam Daniels, Jr. will be remembered for his hardworking hands, his love of good times, his enjoyment of cooking and fishing, and the easy joy he shared with others. His life was one that made room for family, laughter, and bright moments, and that is how he will be fondly remembered.
