Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Warner Temple AME Zion Church.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Rose Ann Terry Carter Brown was born on November 28, 1951, in Wilmington, NC to the late Mary Allen Carter Earl & Mize Scarborough.  She professed her love for Christ at a young age and was baptized into the Family of God.  She attended Williston High school.  Rose was employed at Wilmington Housing Authority where she served the underprivileged and encouraged the broken.  Rose was married to the late Gerome J. Brown.  She had three biological children, Tonja (Toni), L. Carter, Olden Terry, Ill, and Crystal J. Terry.  Rose had five bonus children Corey Brown, Monica Brown, Dorcas Brown and Bartholomew Gerome Brown and Tameca McRae.  Rose enjoyed spending time with her grandbabies and her close friends.  She never met a stranger and was loved by so many.  She would be head over hills whenever she received a rose.  She would always say, "A Rose is still a Rose".  In life, she was our Rose and in death she is still our Rose.  Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Allen Carter Earl and Mize Scarborough, husband Gerome Brown, daughter Tonja (Toni) L. Carter, grandson Ajene O. Johnson, siblings, Robert L. Carter, Mary Carter and George E. Carter.  One niece, one nephew; Annette "Net" Moore and Cecil "Randy" Moore.  She leaves to cherish her memories. Children; Olden Terry, III and Crystal J. Terry.  Rose had five bonus children Corey Brown, Monica Sharpe, Dorcas Brown, Bartholomew Gerome Brown and Tameca McRae.  Grandchildren; T'era L. Carter, Tiffany L. Bullock, Yasmine D. Bullock, Cortez U. Terry, Corzion McRae Qua'shawn Robinson, Justice l. Terry, Kristin Rose Goodman, Kaydin R. Goodman and Mason J. Carter.  Great Grandchildren; Zaniyha Vaught, Alexanderia Vaught, Matthew Vaught, Nazariah Vaught, Kamal Coley, Zavion Coley, Aubrey Bella Rose Coley, Siblings; Jesse M. Moore & Calvin (Fish) L. Carter. Nieces and Nephews; Donna McMillan (Reggie), Cheryl Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Michael Carter, Eric Carter, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Carter, Tina "TT" Carter Smith, Shawn Carter, Geoffrey "Josh" Bell, Jerome Carter.  Great nieces and nephews; Darrell McMillan, Tevin McMillan, Cheyenne Kennedy, Teketa "Precious" Moore, Shamika Graham, Danica Moore, Randy Carter, Cecilia Carter, Michael Carter, Reshaude Carter, Jamius Carter Newkirk, Lynee Carter, Christina Carter, Christon Carter, DeShon Carter and Sameria George.  A host of other friends and family members.
