Funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Friday at Shaw Funeral Home.

Our beloved Rosa Stewart Batts was born December 27, 1944, to Rudolph & Lillie Stewart in Wilmington, NC.  After 81 years, God closed her eyes and gave her peace on March 16, 2026.  In 1967 she moved to the Washington, DC/Maryland area. Here she worked as Cafeteria Manager in the D.C. Public Schools. She also worked as an administrator/ mail clerk at the Marriott Headquarters. She retired from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  She loved politics, reading, and spending time with family. Rosa was a loving mother of four children, grandmother to nine grandchildren and great grandmother to eight great grandchildren. She treasured every moment in her role as Mother and Grandmother showering her children and grandchildren with love and affection. Rosa is preceded in death by her parents Rudolph & Lillie Stewart, her husband - Henry Batts, and her brother Rudolph Stewart Jr., aka Bruh. Rosa leaves to cherish her loving memories: Children Sharon, Anita, Henry (Annet) and Andrea (Andre), Grandchildren - Tiffany (Luis), TJ, Candace, Shanise (Donald), DJ, Pebbles, Xander, Makayla & Aniya, Great Grandchildren- Lennox, Journey, Laila, Roman, Levi, Gianna, Jordyn & Andre, Siblings - Arzella, Clarence (Pat), Rubie & Katie, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
