Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Willie L. Shaw Jr Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service.

Ronny Broadwater, son of the late Robert Broadwater of Augusta, GA and Alean Livingston Broadwater of Loris, SC was born on May 30, 1950.  He departed this earthly life on December 28, 2023. Ronny grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina and attended the New Hanover County Schools.  He later acquired his GED.  Ronny worked several odd jobs in his day but his last employment was as a stocker with the Food Lion Chain.  He was a very dependable, hard working and on time employee.  Having this great work ethic led his employer to know something was not right when he didn't report to work.  They knew something had to be wrong because Ronny was always on time and always went above and beyond his job description. Ronny was married to Ida Mae Doughty Broadwater who preceded him in death.  He was a very good son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and a very good friend to all who had the privilege of meeting him.  His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren called him "Pop" and he loved them all with all of his heart.  It was nothing that "Pop" wouldn't do for them and they knew it.  He also loved his friends and was a listening ear to many of them.  He had a giving heart to all in need.  Ronny was a loyal friend and very compassionate. Some of his friends, Paul Thompson, Joe Point, William "Pooh" Boney, Sam King and so many others, too numerous to name here, can attest to the bond and loyal friendship that he shared with them. But, all of you know the relationship you had with our loved one.  He will always be remembered.   In addition to his parents and his wife, Ronny was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Broadwater of Augusta, GA.
