Ronald Edward Nixon, II, affectionately known as Ron, went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2025, at the age of 49. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, on November 21, 1975, Ron's life was a testament to love, laughter, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of joy, kindness, and faith. From the moment he entered this world, Ron was a shining light—born a happy, dancing baby who quickly grew into a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, friend, coworker, and so much more. He was many things to many people, and each role he played was filled with his unique, charismatic energy. Ron was a family man at heart, cherishing every moment with those he loved, from his loving and devoted wife, Karess Nixon, to his six children—Zeara McKoy, Marcela Gordon, Malakahi Tyson, Zyron Nixon, Maliyah Nixon, and Milani Nixon and adorable grandchildren, Jacobi Holder and Kayden Gordon, and bonus grandchildren, Kingston and Keenan Tyson. Ron was the eldest son of Ronald and Gwendolyn Nixon, and his love for family ran deep. He leaves behind his two brothers, Michael-Chan Nixon (Tyiesha) and Tommy Hederick, and his two sisters, Shelley Nixon-Green (Lorne) and Saudia, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will all miss him dearly. Ron's family was his anchor, and he found his greatest happiness in spending time with them—whether it was enjoying a big southern breakfast, laughing together during movie nights, or simply taking pleasure in the quiet moments of life. Ron's passion for trucking was passed down by his father. As a young adult, he followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a skilled truck driver and eventually a business owner. His work in the trucking industry not only provided for his family but also allowed him to meet and connect with people from all walks of life. Ron's vast experiences and open heart made him someone who could relate to anyone by offering a listening ear, advice, and, most importantly, a good laugh. Those who knew Ron also knew of his love for fashion and style, especially sneakers. He was known for his generous spirit, never hesitating to give the shirt off his back to someone in need. A prankster at heart, Ron had a mischievous side that made him the life of any gathering. His humor was contagious, and his smile was infectious—he had a way of making everyone around him feel special. Above all, Ron's faith in God was his guiding light. He loved the Lord deeply and sought to share that love with everyone he encountered. His daily scripture texts to friends and family served as reminders of God's presence and grace, and his devotion to helping others grow closer to the Lord was a cornerstone of his life. Though Ron's time with us was too short, his impact was immeasurable. His laughter, his faith, his love for life, and his deep devotion to family will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
