Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Willie L. Shaw Jr. Memorial Chapel.  Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Friday.

Roderick Bernard Simmons, son of Herbert Lee Temoney, Sr. and Mary Louise Simmons was born on March 9, 1972, in Wilmington, North Carolina.  His parents preceded him in death.  He was educated in the New Hanover County School System.   Roderick loved to dance, fish and many outdoor activities, especially with his grandson.  He leaves to cherish fond memories:  his wife, Lionese Felder-Simmons; children, Dakota Simmons, Khadijah Smith, Rodney Bradley, A'Miracle Simmons, Cam'Ron Jones, Kamani Williamson and Eli Pollard; his stepchildren, Shameka Cohens, Deniece Cohens, JayQuan Jones and Divine (Ronnasia) Felder; grandchildren, Ollen Bradley, Justyn Hicks, I'Yani Felder, Dino Waddell, Jr. and Ty'Tanna Cohens; great-grandfather, Wilson "Deal" Simmons; brothers, Herbert Temoney, Jr. (Iris), Edwin Simmons (Alisha), Markus Temoney (Anastasia), Steven Roseborough (Jackie) and Corey Temoney; aunts, Beverly Ann Porter and Augusta Simmons.
