It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Robert Sessoms, IV on April 26, 2025. Robert Sessoms, IV was born on October 14th, 1997, in Elizabeth, NJ at Saint Elizabeth Hospital to Shaneedah Terry Brown and Robert Sessoms, III. Robert was a devoted father, a loyal son and grandson, a loving brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was the kind of man who always showed up with love, with laughter, and with strength! Family was everything to him. Whether it was guiding his son, helping his siblings, or showing up for a cousin or friend in need, Robert lived a life rooted in loyalty and love. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Sessoms, Jr., and his aunt, Yesha Dudley. He is survived by his beloved son, Preston Robert Sessoms; his loving parents, Shaneedah Brown and Robert Sessoms, Ill; his grandparents, Doris A. Barbee, Ronald Terry, and Eleanor R. Sessoms; and a host of siblings, cousins, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. Robert attended both William F. Halsey Academy and New Hanover High School, where he played football. He was a fierce athlete, earning many trophies over the years, and was a die-hard fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Beyond sports, he furthered his education at Job Corps, earned his CDL, and never hesitated to do whatever it took to become his own boss in the trucking industry. He was a protector, a provider, and a man who worked everyday to rise above challenges and create something better for those he loved most. Although Robert's life was taken from us far too soon, in a way that can't be justified, his spirit, his laughter, and the love he gave will NEVER be forgotten. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the hearts he filled. Rest in POWER, your light will never fade!
