Ricky Helms, son of the late Fred and Hazel Helms was born on February 15, 1949, in Oakboro, North Carolina.  He departed this earthly life on February 1, 2024.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Ronald Fred Helms, Jeffrey Bingham Helms and Jill Ann Martin.  He is survived by his children, Barbee (Troy) Decker, Ashley (Jon) Owens and David (Amanda0 Helms; six grandchildren and friends, including Bruce Phillips, Kellie Ford and his dog Zeke.
