Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church; 7500 Carolina Beach Road. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:15 AM - 10:45 AM on Monday morning prior to the service.
Richal "Rich" Roscoe Stevens of Wilmington, North Carolina, born February 13, 1980, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Richal attended the public schools of New Hanover County where he graduated from John T. Hoggard High School in 1998. He furthered his vocational education at Cape Fear Community College in plumbing studies. Richal was employed at Milam Plumbing Inc., which was the love of his employment career. He truly enjoyed working with the public and leaving them with the satisfaction of a job well done. Richal accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, Wilmington, North Carolina where he served as Chairperson of the Usher Department, Kitchen Committee, and sang in the Men's Choir. Richal was an organ donor and being such a giving person he has contributed to 3 lives. He leaves to cherish his memory; two children, Jacquelyn Burns and Olivia Grace Stevens, both of Wilmington, NC; his father, Bernard Stevens, Sr.; his mother Ruby (Harvey) Freeman; one sister, Tylisha (Brian) Hooper; one brother, Bernard "LP" (Sherry) Stevens, Jr. all of Wilmington, NC; six uncles, Adolph (Hallie) Atwood of Beaumont, TX, Danny Taylor (Doretha), Roderick (Marguerite) Atwood, Eric (Pam) Atwood, William Stevens, Jr. and Jimmy Stevens, all of Wilmington, NC; two aunts, Brenda (Ronald) Hicks and Shirley Wilson all of Wilmington, NC; a host of other relatives and friends.
