Reginald Leon Brown, affectionately known to so many as “Reggie”, or “Leon”, passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born April 30,1961 in North Carolina to the late Lena B. Brown. Reggie lived a life filled with laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. He was the kind of person who could light up a room. He was the life of every gathering. Leon was known for his quick wit, stern love, infectious sense of humor and the wisdom that he freely shared with everyone around him. More than anything he was a protector and a teacher who offered encouragement and life lessons that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. To his family, Leon was an incredible son, brother, uncle, father figure, cousin, and friend. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lena B. Brown and his sister, Patricia Mitchell. He leaves behind countless cherished memories that will forever bring smiles through tears. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Hankins; his stepdaughter, Laterria Davis; two step siblings, Peggy Baldwin and George Baldwin; his beloved nieces and nephews, Odell Hankins (significant other Ceo), Harry Hankins, Harriette Hankins (significant other Johnny) Shirley Hankins, Trina O’Hannon, Angel O’Hannon, Shakia O’Hannon, and Ariel O’Hannon; his uncle, Zettie Brown; his great-uncle, Burnt Graham; his great aunt, Stella Graham; his special nieces and nephews, Prentice Nixon, Sunny Briggs, Valerie Powell and Tyrone Powell; a host of other relatives and friends. Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, laughter, strength, and wisdom will never fade.
