Obituary

Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at New Covenant Holiness Church.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. QUEEN ELIZABETH JONES (76), of Cary, North Carolina; formerly of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2024.  Queen was born to the late Governor Williams and Mary Dailey Williams in Winnabow, North Carolina on December 2, 1947.  She was preceded in death by both parents, a brother Joseph Williams, sisters, Evelyn, and Alberta Williams.  Queen attended the Raleigh Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  She served as a member of the Prayer Warrior Team; she also was a faithful member of the Sabbath School Class.  Queen is survived by her son Steven Williams of Hartford, CT; daughter Yolanda Jackson (Kevin) of Hartford, CT; son Corey T. Brown (Marjorie) of Hartford, CT; six grandchildren, Steven Williams, Chelse' Terry, Christian and Brycen Jackson, Corynne, and Chloe Brown, all of Hartford, CT; three great-grandchildren, Kyliek, Stonee, and Summer Williams all of Hartford, CT. siblings; Lee Williams (Hartford, CT), Virginia Davis (Richmond, VA), Christine Williams (Hartford, CT), Beulah Carr (Wilmington, NC), Fran Jones (James), Leland, NC, Harry Williams (Hartford, CT), Eria Nesbitt (Linwood), Lonnie Williams, Bobby Williams (Doretha), Joyce Williams, Gloria Williams, Brenda Thomas, all of Wilmington, NC, Gladys Moore (Daniel) Hampstead, NC, Darlene Wilson (James) Wilmington, NC.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
