Phyllis Elaine Henderson, age 73, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024, at home in Leland, NC. Elaine was born on June 4,1950 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Phyllis E. Yancy and the late Rudolph Johnson, Sr. She was a dedicated mother with a flair for cooking. Her heart was as big as her personality. One of Elaine's well-known sayings, when feeding the neighborhood was, "Is everybody happy?"  In 1976, Elaine married her former spouse, Rickie Henderson, and from that union they had two children they both adored. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey D. Yancy. Elaine is survived by one daughter, Tasha Henderson Johnson; one son, Rickie Jamaine Henderson (Joi); four grandchildren, Quavon Jamar Henderson (Mikayla), Javon Keith Johnson, Kiah Ionie Henderson, and Leila Simone Henderson; her sister, Gale Jackson (Curtis), brother, Rudolph Johnson, Jr. (Dorenda); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved friends and associates.

The family will be welcoming visitors at the home of Tasha Johnson; 8986 Crooked Oak Court, Leland, NC 28451 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 13th, 2024.
