On January 23, 1944, our lives were graced with the announcement of Peggy Ann Walker being born.  She brightened the world of Ernest and Sarah Walker and all of her siblings on that day.  Her parents preceded her in death.  On August 3, 2024, the Lord was in need of an angel and our world became a little dimmer as Peggy transitioned from earth to heaven at the ripe age of 80 years old.  Peggy grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina where she attended various schools in the public school system.  She attended Williston High School and Sandford College where she completed her education and pursued her goals of helping others that needed help.  Her focus was on how can I help somebody today.  This act of concern and love was demonstrated in her life choices, earning a certificate in home care, and taking nursing courses to assist in giving her clarity of the issues she encountered when caring for others.  As she helped others, Peggy Ann found the love of her life.  Peggy and Roger Tyler united their love 52 years ago, as they expanded their family to include, Patricia who preceded her in death, Brenda, Lisa and Jimmy. Family was the cornerstone of her existence.  She would do anything that she could for anyone.  She was a wonderful mother to Jimmy, Brenda, Lisa and Patricia.  She was always there when she was needed the most by her family and others.  Together Roger and Peggy created a family unit demonstrating an unwavering support system, wisdom, and love in abundance. When we reflect on her life, the attributes of a dove come to mind – Hope, Honesty, Purity and Peace, to name a few.  There are so many positive qualities that Peggy embodied as she walked this earth. The Bible teaches that the white dove was used as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, bringing divine messages to all from heaven.  In this same way, her life was a testament to these pure and spiritual virtues.  She was a vessel of hope, a beacon of integrity, and a source of serenity for all who knew her.  Her legacy will continue to inspire us to live with the same level of compassion, faith and grace that defined her own journey.  With heavy hearts, Peggy leaves behind a family full of love that will remember her always.  Peggy Ann wore her badge of honor admirably.  She didn't mind you calling her auntie even though you may be just as mature as she was.  She was a friend to many.  Love conquers all.  Losing a wife and mother is an eclipse of the heart, leaving the world seemingly dimmer in her absence.  We seek not to just mourn but to celebrate the unique story of a life beautifully lived and a love that echoes beyond time.
