Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Mt. Zion AME Church. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
Pauline Elizabeth Moore Green was born on July 13, 1934, to the late Clayton Moore Sr. and Pauline Moore Williams. On October 1, 2025, she was called to be with the Lord. Pauline was the last surviving sibling of ten children. Pauline affectionately known as "Bunny " was reared in a loving and close-knit home. As a result of being raised in a God-fearing family, Pauline loved the Lord. She attended Mt. Zion AME Church from the age of five years old. Pauline was educated in the New Hanover County Schools. She attended Williston Industrial School, graduating in the Class of 1953. While attending high school she met the love of her life Milton Green. They were married for 66 years. Pauline and her family moved to New York. While living in New York she became a member of Dewitt Reformed Church. She was active and served as an Ordained Deacon, Elder, leader of the women's guild, and a choir member. For several years Pauline operated her own daycare service through Emanuel Presbyterian Church. Later, she became a Switchboard Operator and Supervisor at Marymount Manhattan College until she retired. She was an Eastern Star and served in the highest position bestowed as Worthy Matron in New York for Jeptha Lodge No. 68. She was also an active member of the NAACP Branch 135 in the Bronx, New York. Pauline and her husband moved to Brunswick County, Leland, NC to be with family and friends after their retirement. Upon Pauline's return to North Carolina, she became an active member at Mt. Zion AME Church. As a member Pauline served as Sunday School Superintendent and held the title of Dorcas Queen of the Missionaries. In addition, she served as the president of the Young at Heart base in Wilmington, NC. Pauline displayed genuine concern for people. Her passion was helping others. She loved cooking delicious "Soul Food" for her family and friends, filling every gathering with warmth, laughter, love and her beautiful smile. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three children, Wilbur Green "Wimpy", Milton Green Jr. "Mickey", Pauline Green Wilson "Vickey", five sisters, Theresa Walker, Rosa Lee Stanley, Helen Weeks, Ila Mae Austin, and Infant Pauline Moore; four brothers, Clayton Moore Jr. Bernest Moore, William Moore, Richard Williams and brother-in-law Ernest Walker She leaves fond memories to a devoted son, Kevin Green (Joanne) of the Bronx, New York; 6 grandchildren, Shenequa Wilson, Tiffany Wilson (Jeremy) William Wilson (Samantha) Donovan Green, Kaylin Green, and Stephanie Wilson (Tory); 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Estelle Moore, Debbie Moore, and Avery Jones; a devoted niece, Geraldine Pollock (Frankie); a special friend and classmate Donald Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
