Funeral service will be 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Saturday, prior to the service.

Olga Roshila Jones Larry, affectionately known to all as "Rochelle", was born on December 28, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York to Sarah Jane Jones and Mikey Morales. Rochelle was educated in the New York City School System.  She spent most of her early life in Brooklyn before moving to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1973.  Wilmington has been home for Rochelle ever since. Rochelle loved a good action movie and to keep her nails done.  Her greatest joy of all was her grandkids.  They were the highlight of her life.  Everybody knew around Rochelle you were going to get a good laugh.  She had a fiery spirit and a no-nonsense attitude, at the same time she always showed so much kindness and compassion. Rochell met, fell in love and married James W. Larry, Jr. in 1978. From their union they had two beautiful daughters. On February 26, 2024, at the age of 67, Rochelle's name was called and she walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Sarah; her sister, Cecelia "CeCe" and her stepfather, Russell Davis. Rochelle was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.  She leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories: her daughters, Marquita Nicole Larry of Wilmington, NC and Dominique LaChelle Lennon (Ron) of Atlanta, GA; a niece that she raised as her own, Tammy W. Mayhew (James) of Mooresville, NC; stepdaughter, LaToya Walker; grandchildren, Sariah Olivaria, Vrigil Olivaria, VeAndre Olivaria, Aryanah Larry, Onyx Lennon, Aryss Lennon, Tierra Mayhew, JaShirah Mayhew, and Jaliyah Mayhew; special granddaughter, Xaria Keaton; aunt, Delores Jones; special niece, Kwanna Chance; sister and best friend, Janzara Robinson; a host of nieces, nephews, adopted children, adopted grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
