Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Pine Valley Church of God.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is from 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Nancy Mitchell Stevens, daughter of the late John Mitchell and Mary Ann Mitchel was born May 18, 1953, in Wilmington, North Carolina.  She passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Nancy was educated in the New Hanover County School System, graduating from John T. Hoggard High School in the Class of 1971.  Nancy furthered her education at Miller Motte Business College.  She retired as a receptionist for the Center of Marine Science at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.  Nancy loved her family and the Lord.  Nancy was married to Donald L. Stevens who preceded her in death. She grew up attending Hanks Chapel and is currently a member of Church of God in Christ. She enjoyed listening to gospel music while working on her cross stitch. She will be dearly missed and always remembered. In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Bozeman and her sister-in-law, Eva Mitchell. Nancy leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children: April Smith of Wilmington, NC and LaDonna Dickey of Warsaw, NC; grandchildren: Sydney Smith, Madyson Rhodes, Aaron Dickey, Ronin Dickey and Avonlea Dickey; brother: Willie "Benny" Mitchell; sisters:             Margaret Ann Faison (Ernest) and Peggy McQueen (Joseph); brother-in-law: Ernest Bozeman; special friends: Tracey Foy, Fanny Brown, Tommy Atwood and Gloria Green; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
