Obituary

Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Phillip AME Church.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Na'imah Glover Hawkins was born to Saabra Glover and Bernard Davis on August 6, 2008, in Wilmington, NC.  She was given her angelic wings on April 23, 2022, at UNC-Chapel Hill Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Carla Davis, Carrie and Emmett Glover; adoptive grandmother Willie Mae Junipher.  Na'imah accepted Christ at an early age and was very active in church.  She was a member of the Youth Choir and Combined Choirs.  She helped deliver Christmas gifts to nursing homes for gift giving projects, packed fruit baskets for church members, sorted diapers at the local Diaper Non-profit drive with the North Carolina Conference YPD.  She was elected the Youth President of the St Phillip AME Church YPD for the Conference Year 2021-2022.  Na'imah was also a member of St Phillip AME Church's Girl Scout Troop #1901 for three years, and had reached the Junior Level.  Na'imah was elected Junior Worship Leader for the Church School of the Southern District of the North Carolina Conference.  She led Presiding Elder Dunn, pastors, and members of the entire Southern District in prayer and scripture for Church School meetings and conventions.  She was also a member of the local Chapter of the NAACP.  Na'imah attended Myrtle Grove Middle School and was an outstanding student.  She was in the Pep Band and Chorus.  She loved music and had learned to play the flute, trombone, and the keyboard.  She had a zest for learning new technology and loved making Tik Toks.  She leaves to cherish her memories, her adoptive parents:  Brenda and Alexander Hawkins, her mother, Saabra Glover and her father, Bernard Davis; seven sisters: Kynora, Khadijah, Essence, Sequonia, Qudeshia, Arianna and Iman; four brothers:  Khalia, Ghana, Na'il, Bernard, Jr.; aunts:  Renee, Ladnor, Sharice, Yvette, Michelle; adoptive aunts: Gloria Conyers, Edna Conyers, Patricia Figucro (Vanburen), Regina Johnson (Ronnie), Pamela King, Angela Daniels, Yvonne McIntyre, Beverly Starks; Uncle Bryant, adoptive uncles: Willie Conyers (Betty), Johnny Conyers (Angela), Gary Hawkins, Jeff Mack: adoptive grandparents, Maggie Conyers and William Mack (Sarah).  Her bestie, Jada, and Shanti; and a host of other relatives, loving neighbors, classmates and friends.
