A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church.

Morris Lee Mitchell, son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Mitchell was born on September 15, 1961, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Hospice House in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Morris received his education in the New Hanover County School System. He worked for K&W Cafeteria for twenty years and for UNCW for three and one-half years. Morris was a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Richard W. Smith. Morris was a very happy person all the time. He was really easy to get along with and was truly loved by his family and friends. He leaves to cherish fond memories; four brothers, George Blanks (Alyisia) of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Blanks (Pealine) of Wilmington, NC, Thomas Ray Blanks of South Carolina and Terry Mitchell of Wilmington, NC; four sisters, Inez M. Weston of Norfolk, VA, Cheryl Glenn (Raber) of Durham, NC Nadine Bragg (Glenn) of Avon Park, FL and Susie Barnett of Fayetteville, NC; one aunt, Lottie Mitchell Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, including two special friends, Mary and Jimmy Willis who were like family to Morris.
