A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home.  Mildred Geraldine Webb was born on June 23, 1948, to Pete and Mildred Coleman in Wilmington, NC.  She attended Williston High School and graduated with the Class of 1967. In the 1980s, she began working with New Hanover County in the courthouse in the Environmental Services Department before becoming a crew leader and transferring to the county's Department of Social Services, where she supervised a crew of four to five employees before retiring in 2012. Mildred has been described as "a good, respectful" and nurturing supervisor and employee.  "Geraldine" as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, will be remembered for her infectious laughter, beautiful smile, and gregarious personality.  She also loved going to the beach and fishing on the pier.  She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Coleman, mother, Mildred McClain, sister Betty Bowden and brother, Edward Coleman.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory and continue her legacy one son, Ronald Coleman; one daughter, DeRhonda "Dee" Coleman; four grandchildren; Torron Coleman, Chelsea Coleman, Saniyya Coleman, and Amayia Coleman; one brother, Freddie Coleman (Lela); two sisters, Barbara Smith and Doris Coleman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
