Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Michael Alexander Newsome departed this life on June 20, 2024 at Carrington Nursing Home in Lumberton, North Carolina.  Michael, son of Willie and Bettye Newsome was born on July 11, 1972. Both parents preceded him in death. Michael was educated in the New Hanover County Public School System.  He worked at Mayflower, was a barber and a singer.  We always called him Maxwell.  Michael was a loving person to everyone who knew him.  He leaves to cherish fond memories: one son, Michael Newsome of Connecticut; 7 grandchildren; his siblings, Adrian, Antonio, Ingrid, Brandon and Matthew; aunt, Frances Anderson; uncle, David Lee (Linda) a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
