Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at The Sending Church; 118 Rockledge Road, Wilmington, NC 28412.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.  Maurice Edward Bellamy, son of Micheal Bloodworth and Angela Bellamy Barnhill was born June 27, 1967, in Wilmington NC.  As a child Maurice was known by his family and friends as "Noonie".  Later in life because of his swagger, his sharp dress and his pimp walk he became known to all as "Duke".  Duke was educated in New Hanover County Schools graduating from John T. Hoggard High School in the Class of 1985.  Duke was raised in Jervay Housing Community.  He later moved to Florida but ended up in Tennessee with his 3 Bruh/cousins.  He moved back home in June of this year.  Duke loved to play basketball, talk, cook and eat because of his love for food he spent most of his teenage and adult life working as a cook.  He would often tell us "I'm the best cook in the family".  Duke was preceded in death by both his grandmothers Ida Bloodworth and Eloise "Peggy" Bellamy.  His aunt, whom he spent many summers in Philadelphia Cynthia Bellamy Wells.  His aunt Vernell Green; his uncle's; Charles Watson and Sylvanus Bloodworth.  One of his best friends is Carl "Ice" Sidberry.  He leaves to cherish his memories. Four children; Latisha Shaw, Maurice and Tyresha Bellamy, and Tyre' Caldwell.  His parents Michael Bloodworth (Keisha) and Angela Bellamy Barnhill.  Two sisters; Shenita Spicer (Warrick) and Lashawna Bloodworth.  Two brothers; Torrance Bellamy and Micheal Bloodworth.  Three cousins raised as brothers Regginald (Monica) and Roderick Bellamy and Lawrence Wells Jr.  Two grandchildren; Tyre' Jr. and Peyton Caldwell.  In addition, his beloved grand-dog Bougotti Bellamy.  Seven aunts, four uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
