Mary Elizabeth Crummy Nixon "DeeDee" loved God. She was adamant about studying and sharing his word with others. On January 23, 1960, DeeDee was born. She was the daughter of Matthew Aikens and Elizabeth Crummy-McGhee. DeeDee was the oldest of her siblings, and the only girl. Her brothers left with memories are David and his wife Desire, William 'BooLoo" and his wife Terry, John, and his wife Lanette, and the late Aaron McGhee. She also leaves memories to cherish with her, 3 children, Vashti Crummy and her soulmate, Terry Bloodworth, Ebony Crummy, and Lawrence Lennon; 7 grandchildren, Maurice McKeithan, Jr., Re'Niyah Elizabeth Crummy, Khyla, Nehemiah, and Amati Lemmon, Chloe Hansley and Skye Jenwright; 1 great granddaughter, Autumn Royalty McKeithan. DeeDee, our mom was very big on education and continued to study and received many different degrees and certificates of accomplishments. She was most proud of her certification of Prison Ministry. Her family was her largest possession, because no matter what, they were always there to support each other and have each other's back. She loved basketball, spades, and shooting pool. She told us she taught her brothers how to play, and now they think they are better than her. Our mother spent lots of time with her nieces, nephews, and grand kids. They knew when she was around, they were going on an eventful ride with aunt DeeDee. Re'Niyah her 2nd grandchild, said and we quote "Grandma DeeDee was an amazing woman. She was a woman who stood her ground. My Grandma could light a dark city with her smile! We are so blessed to have had his amazing woman in our lives. She was so proud of her creations, and spoke so highly of her grands, and their accomplishments. Ms. Mary "DeeDee" has gained her wings and leaves this earthly home leaving a huge impact on a lot of people's lives. Everyone who knew her got a taste of her love and nuggets of wisdom that will be with us forever.
