My beloved husband, friend, and soulmate, Marvin Louis Jackson, was peacefully ushered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, October 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with an extensive illness. His victory was a testament to his strength and faith. Marvin was the fourth of five children born to Mrs. Mary Campbell-Jackson of the city. Marvin was educated in the New Hanover County Public School system and graduated from Cape Fear Community College, earning his GED & Trade. Marvin was employed by the city of Wilmington Parks and Recreation until his health failed, ultimately leading to his early retirement. Marvin's love for the Lord was unwavering—a beacon of inspiration to all who knew him. Life presented him with many challenges, but his faith, love, and respect for God remained steadfast. He revered HIM, deeply and sincerely. Marvin became a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord after joining the family at DiVine Faith & Restoration Church, Int'l, in 2023. Marvin developed a strong bond of admiration for the set angels of the house, Sr. Pastor Dr. John D. Stevenson and Pastor Lady Nikki Stevenson. Marvin was preceded in death-by his father, Mr. Moses Copprue of Dayton, Ohio. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mamie Ruth YatesJackson of the home; daughter, Jaquana N. Jackson of the home; grandchildren: Jaquan C. Jackson, Skyla M. Bethune, and Theodore L. Bethune, of all the home; and one great-grandson, Zymiri Bryant. His mother, Mary C. Jackson of the home; siblings; Anthony A. Jackson (Cynthia), Wilmington, NC, Cynthia Whitaker (Mack), Pamela J. Doughty, and Michael Jackson, both of Wilmington, NC; Rhonda Copprue-Goodard, Dayton, Ohio, Ida Randle (L. T.)
