Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Margurite Junious Brooks, our loving and devoted mother, auntie, and friend to all whose life she touched, on August 23, 2022.  She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Wilmington, North Carolina.  She was born June 21, 1945, to John H. Junious, Sr. and Dorus W. Junious.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Brooks; two brothers, George Junious and John H. Junious and one sister, Eartha M. Junious, and a dear lifelong friend, Lillie Wood.  Margurite grew up in Wilmington, NC.  She graduated from Williston High School in 1964 and attended Fayetteville State University.  Then she moved to Brooklyn, NY, where she resided until relocating back to NC in 2021.  She was employed and retired from Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Corporation with 40+ years of service.  She grew up as a member of Mt Calvary Baptish Church in Wilmington, NC, and became a member of Brown Memorial Church in 1984.  She was a faithful member of Sunday School and The Trustee Board.  Other clubs and auxiliaries that she was affiliated with included:  The Elections Board, Community Board 2, Williston North Carolina Club, and Pinochie Club.  She was also an advocate of Leticia James, Eric Adams, and Reverend Miller.  After returning to Wilmington, NC, she faithfully attended Valour Ministry and Mt Calvary Baptist Church.  She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Cedric Brooks, Kevin Brooks, and Allen Brooks; one daughter, Aishe (Nene); one grandson, Cedric; one granddaughter,  Shalaya; one goddaughter,  Zenica Bowser; one godson,  Fabian Green; one brother, Richard Junious (Macie) of Wilmington, NC; two sisters-in-law, Hattie (Roosevelt) Lucus, and Dorothy Junious;  two special nieces,  Wendy Junious of Medford, NY and Shirley Junious of Wilmington, NC; four special caretakers, Asia Swann, Brendella Gordon, Latonya Cere, and Pearlie Nelson; special great-nephews, Romelo Green, Fabian Green, and Liam; special great-nieces, Ke'mijoe and Serenity; special friends, Hazel Petterson and Verna Thompson; special cousin, Esther Clemmons and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.
