Funeral Service will be 12 Noon Wednesday February 23, 2022 at the Willie L. Shaw Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. Private Visitation.
Mrs. Lottie M. Beatty was born on May 8, 1936, in Leland, NC, to the late Rev. Edison and Irene H. Moore. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong member of Johnson Chapel AME Zion Church. Lottie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and served faithfully until her heath began to decline. Lottie was educated in Brunswick County and attended Lincoln High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie Beatty, Jr., and to this union four children were born. Lottie thoroughly enjoyed traveling and would be quick to organize a trip or a cruise. She also enjoyed helping others and would often be found visiting with the sick and shut-in. Additionally, she opened her home to several foster children that became extended family. Lottie was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Carole Moore, grandson Antwyn Beatty and godchildren, Mary Tameika Jackson and Derrick T. Ballard. Left to cherish her wonderful memory are her children; Margaret Spaulding (Franklin), Donald Beatty (Marilyn), William Beatty (Paula), Crystal Collins, nine grandchildren; Kendria Lee (Travis), Takeila Johnson, MaShonia Jones (Brandon), LaDonna Young (James), Lachisa Smith (David), Armond Beatty, Twana Beatty, Christopher Beatty, and Destiny Collins, bonus grandchild, Kevin Mosley, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, adopted children, Carrie Gore, Rhonda Hill, Sonya McCorkle, and Jalen Jinwright, one sister Frances Bellamy, sisters-in-law Hazel Hill, Marie McMillan (Robert), Juanita Ballard (William), Marilyn Troy (Carnell); brothers-in-law, Herbert Beatty (Genevieve), Arthur Beatty, and Carl Beatty (Sheila); three aunts, Sadie M. Richburg, Glather M. Robbins, and Louise M. Moore; one uncle Clayton A. Moore, special friends, Lillie A. McKoy, Ida Jackson, Oredia Woodbery, and Ella Beatty, caregivers; Vearetta Kilgore, Mae Jinwright and April Webb and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
