Funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lorraine Belinda Bowen, known as "Tina" was born September 1, 1954 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late Lorenzo Bowen and Pauline Evangeline Jones.  She departed this earthly life on September 27, 2023. Lorraine was educated in the New Hanover County Public School System.  She worked as a pre-school teacher at Saint Mark Freewill Baptist Church. To know Lorraine was to love her.  You always knew exactly how she felt.  She was the true definition of a God-fearing woman.  Lorraine was best known for helping families along the way, cooking cakes and pies and praising and worshipping God.  When she talked about death she made it a good thing.  So, don't grieve for her, she is finally free! In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Johnson and her siblings, Wakeelah Abdullah, George Bowen and  Donald Ray Bowen. She leaves to cherish fond memories:
