Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Old Scotts Hill Church.  Burial will follow in the Pollock Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Lonnie Alfred Nixon was born March 4, 1972, in New Hanover County to Bessie F. Nixon and David Foy, Ill.  He was raised in the Scotts Hill Community and with his family attended Old Scotts Hill AME Church.  On Saturday, February 1, 2025, he departed his earthly vessel and entered into eternal rest. Lonnie was educated in the public schools of New Hanover County, graduating from Lakeside High School.  Lonnie was previously employed at Porter's Neck Plantation Golf Course before relocating to Dunn, North Carolina.  Lonnie's loving memories will be cherished by; his parents, Bessie F. Nixon, Lithonia, GA and David Foy, Ill (Selma Washington), Dunn, North Carolina; his siblings, Berry Greene (Vernesa) and Stacy Greene (Sarah Barnett) all of Wilmington, NC, Janet N. Kirby (Frederick) and Stephanie Nixon, all of Lithonia, Georgia; Paternal Grandmother; Mattie Foy, Wilmington, NC; aunts, Sharon Hines (Kenneth), Louise Foy and Trina Foy all of Wilmington, NC and Maggie Washington (James) of Illinois and Brenda L. Nixon of New York; uncles; Thomas Nixon, Jr. and Angelo Nixon all of Wilmington, NC, Jerry Green of Louisiana and Arthur Green of Charlotte, NC;  great aunts, Josephine Shepard, Levonia Shepard, Maggie Robinson and Laura Nixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
