Linda C. Wilson was born to the late Wasten and Caroline Clark on November 1, 1943, in Savannah, Ga. Our beloved mother entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2022, at Novant Medical Center, in Wilmington, NC surrounded by her loving family. Linda took to her love for cooking and caring for children at a young age. After graduating Alford Ely Beach High School in Savannah, Ga she relocated to Boston, Massachusetts where she met the love of her life, John C. Wilson. They were married, May 17, 1963. After a career change, they moved to Wilmington, NC where they proceeded to raise their four children: Anthony, Melinda, Lisa, and Juan, (who preceded them in death). As years progressed on, the Wilson family grew, allowing them to spread the love to additional children: Janice, Allen, Cassandra, and Dwayne. Affectionately known as "Ma Wilson", Linda joined Price Cathedral A.M.E. Zion Church in the late 60's. While being a diligent servant for the Lord, she served in various roles. She was an active member of the Women's Club, a life ordained Deaconess, Stewardess Board, Children's Class Leader #8, a Conference Worker, and an Honorary Home Mission Worker. Her heart was always with the children of the church. Her love for children led her to establish the Wilson Family Daycare Home which she operated for more than 45 years. She was a mother to many, not only to children, but anyone who graced her door. Ms. Linda or "Gigi" as she was fondly called by her little ones loved to cook and feed her little babies, and made sure they felt safe, secure, and loved under her care. Linda also loved spending time with her very special friends, confidants and prayer partners, Mrs. Annie Carraway, Mrs. Louella Williams, and Vernell Tobias. She was a loving friend to many and would always feed anybody that would come to her home. She will never be forgotten for baking her delicious cakes and pies, especially that chocolate cake. Linda just had so much sweetness and kindness about her. Linda enjoyed fellowshipping and enjoying life with her family, church family and friends.
