Mr. Lewis "Smooth" Moore was born to the late Mary and Freddie Moore on July 10, 1945, in Brunswick County, NC. He departed this life on October 22, 2024, in Wilmington, NC. Lewis is preceded in death by his, sister, Lucille Jones, brother, Freddie Moore Jr., daughter, Rhonda Rushing, two grandsons and one great grandson.  Lewis was a member of New Vision of Faith in Leland, NC. He loved the LORD and was not ashamed to give his testimonials of the encounters he experienced with the LORD as a young man.  Lewis was educated in the Brunswick County Public School system. His hobbies included: traveling and cooking. He loved hitting the highway. There was no destination to difficult find. It was as if he had a built-in road map. Lewis was an exceptional cook and loved preparing meals for his family and friends. He loved his family. He loved telling jokes and bringing joy and laughter to others.  Lewis was a faithful employee with CSX Railroad with whom he traveled, until retirement after 20 plus years.  Lewis is survived by his wife, Tabitha Jones Moore. His love and memories will remain in the hearts of his children: Mozella Moore Batts, Lewis Moore Jr. (Tikinia) and  Sydney Moore of Wilmington, NC, Kyla Moore of Myrtle Beach, SC, Steve Hyman of Florence, SC, Tony Parker of Thompson Ridge, NJ, Terry Parker (Jackie) of  Patterson, NJ, Eric Delts (Datisha) of the Bronx, NY, his grandchildren 37), great grandchildren (33), his sister, Linda Frink of Elmont, NY, his brother, Raymond Moore (Marie) of Pascagoula, Mississippi, his devoted nephew, Quincy Jones, his bonus daughter, Resha London and his 16 nieces and nephews as well as many cousins. Lewis was preceded in death buy all of his aunts and uncles.
