Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m.  Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Mt Holly Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Moore's Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4:30 pm Friday, April 25, 2025 at the funeral home.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lester Leroy Atkins, a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.  Lester Leroy Atkins was born in Wrightsboro, NC to his late mother, Della Atkins.  Lester was known for his big smile and many sayings.  One being (You're gonna miss me when I'm gone).  That we are!  His character was big along with his personality, kindness, sense of humor and his passion for helping others. One of his favorite hobbies was helping his late mother in her garden.  He had an eye, and touch for plants.  He could fix anything: car, brick masonry, plumbing; he could do it.  When there was family, food and laughter, there was Les, he loved family functions. Proceeding him in death: two sisters, Barbara Atkins & Bonita Atkins and one brother, Harold Johnson.  Leaving to cherish his memory, Special Lady, Angela Tuner; one sister, Melissa Atkins (Ronnie); one nephew, Eric Atkins (Ericka); three great nieces, Kny'lesha, Zy-Myra & Tyyanna; two Great nephews, Ni'Yaun & Zy-Miryon; two great nieces, Zaya & Ke'Nahdi; one great-great nephew, Zion, and a host of family and friends.  Two special people loved him like he was their own, his adopted moms, Carolyn Goodman & Debora Gray, and one adopted brother, Bobby Murphy.
