Leon Blue, Sr. was born January 5, 1940, in the White's Creek Community of rural Bladen County, North Carolina. After school, he followed the footsteps of his older brothers and relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then later moved to Brooklyn, New York until his death. While in New York, Leon worked various jobs landing with the United States Postal Service, retiring as a Supervisor with over 40 years of service. Leon loved to make visits to North Carolina multiple times a year. While "home" as he would say, he found joy in riding through the neighborhood, finding things to fix in his garage, (even if nothing was broken), cutting grass or trimming bushes, but more importantly watching his precious prized possessions, his dogs, Chloe and Marley run and play in the yard.
