Larry Perry, born in Raleigh, North Carolina, the 4th of 10 children belonging to Queen Ester and John Perry. Larry lived life on his own terms, always found time to be of service, guided by his own internal values and purpose. Agree or not with his habits, one truth always stood, he made time for others and gave back where he could. His thirst for knowledge empowered him to achieve numerous academic certificates, licenses and a degree. If you checked three places with no sign of him, try the library, that's where he'd be. His knowledge of cars rivaled any seasoned mechanic that you thought was good. He could check the engine's health of your car with a well-placed finger on the hood. He could actually sing a lil bit, but truth be told, he could carry a tune in genres from gospel to "rock n roll". Those that knew him have a hole in their hearts where he once dwelled, but the memories of him will bring you comfort, and his presence will still be felt. Left to honor Larry's memory are those bound to him by blood, love and lifelong connection. His five children; G. Damian Blanks, Terese Perry Douglas (Erick), Avonda Tamar Pryor (Anthony), Lenell Antonio Locke, Nafeesha Monique Johnson; 17 grandchildren; Jerry K.A. Blanks, Jazmine D. Douglas, Erick T. Douglas (Amy), Bryonna N. Douglas, Trevor D. Perry, Taia P. Hoover (William), Shakyla T. Nosakhere, Anthony J. Pryor, Antwan J. Pryor, Andre J. Pryor, Andrew J. Perry (preceded in death), Alezander A. Locke (Alyssa) Trequan S. Locke, Le'Nyyah A Locke, Karter L.M. Locke, Jaden Marshall, Kha'lani Spain (preceded in death), Kha'Lyese Spain; three siblings; Earnest A. Perry (Delores), Sallie C. Perry (Tori), Dorothy Perry and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and children of the heart. He is also remembered by his wife Diane Perry, longtime friends Rosetta Locke, Jimmy, Pokie, and the Davis family, Hambone, Bracey family, and the Palmer family. Any omission of names is unintentional, and should be attributed to the lack of knowledge, rather than the depth of the relationship.
