A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Shaw Funeral Home.  Larry O'Neil Davis was born on March 19,1950 in Winnabow, NC.  He was the baby boy of Richard H. Davis and Minnie Lee Brewington Davis.  Larry departed this life peacefully on Saturday morning, April 26, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Jesse Lee, and Richard Davis, three sisters Linda D. Smith, Vivian D. McCrae, and Lorraine Oliver.  He was educated in the Brunswick County School System.  Throughout his life he was employed with the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA Local 1426) at the Port of Wilmington as a forklift operator.  Larry loved to cook fish, and he loved horses, especially his horse "Boo."  He leaves to cherish fond memories to his wife of 27 years, Clarissa Brown Davis; one son: Joshua Johnson, New Jersey; one sister, Judith Randolph (Rev. Willie) of Bolivia, NC; two brothers: Rev. Alexander and Bruce Davis both of Wilmington, NC; five sisters-in-law Janice Davis, Southport, NC, Emma Ray Owens, Delco, NC,  Essie M. Nichols (Douglas) Wilmington, NC, Phyllis Simpson (Gregory) Delco, NC, and  Winnie Still-Davis (New Jersey);  three brothers-in-law, Roy Lee Brown, Delco, NC, Wayborn Brown, of Wilmington, NC, and Archie Smith of Bolivia, NC, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, loved ones and friends.
