Kevin W. Davis, also known as "Kookie," son of the late Susan B. Davis, was born on June 22, 1975, in Prince Georges County Maryland. On July 3, 2024, he was called home. "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death." Isaiah 57:1,2.  Kevin was educated in the New Hanover County School System where he attended E.A. Laney High School. At Laney, he (briefly) was a member of the orchestra as a Saxophonist and played football. For those who had the privilege of knowing Kevin, knew he was a jokester at times and at the drop of a dime, could transition into his spirituality where he would quote bible verses. A trait he picked up from his grandfather, the late Ernest B. Davis. Kevin remained a Wilmingtonian until the end. He Loved visiting our family in Sampit, SC. Kevin would always say with excitement, "It's our time to get away and have some fun." During the summer months, he would go and stay with our late Aunt Lillie Bell Myers, survived by her husband, our Uncle Isaiah Myers. He would attend Vacation Bible School and walk from house to house all day visiting older cousins and friends he made along the way. For the month and a half that he was there, he had the opportunity to fellowship with cousins his age as they would take turns coming to spend the weekend and sometimes an entire week with us. After the passing of his mother, he was raised by the late Walter J. Davis "Gus," and Rosa Logan Davis. He shared their home with his sister, Sonya Davis, their first cousin Elychia Davis Redmond and her son William A. Davis. He Loved visiting Uncle Booty at his restaurant "Club New York" on Castle St. He was put to work every time but was rewarded on occasion with one of "Booties" famous dishes. Kevin is survived by: his Sister, Sonya Davis; two nephews; Uncle Linwood Davis a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
